Taste of the Caribbean Restaurant and Lounge was originally founded by four friends who formed a partnership in 2004. Owned and chaired by Lorraine Newton since 2006, this restaurant and lounge offers authentic fine Caribbean cuisines from Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad for dine in, take out and catering options. There are currently four locations in Capitol Heights, Cherry Hill Road, Patapsco Flea Market and District Heights.

On Saturday August 13, 2022 the Capitol Heights location located at 505 Hampton Park Blvd Capitol Heights, MD 20743 will be hosting the staging of the annual A Nuh Luck event.  This highly anticipated cultural Caribbean event for the summer will exhibit a night of mixed selections. On the all-star lineup are exceptionally seasoned selectors to include Fire Oniel, Dr. Dre Movements and Killa Force who exhibit experience in all genres of music. The doors will open from 8pm–2am EST.

The staff and team ensure a night filled with memorable moments, laughter and fun surrounded by great people!

Zimbabwean musician Nutty O recently reached 1 million streams for his track “Handipere Power” on his debut album Mustard Seed released in September 2021. Nutty O specializes in Zimdancehall and delivers his vocals in a mixture of Shona, Patois, English, Pigdin and Ndebele. When asked by the Mbare Times why he chose the title of the album to be Mustard Seed the ABX King stated, "Two reasons, small in stature yet yielding dynamite kinda results, the seed of many uses that grows into a big tree, just like myself. And symbolism of my life and career, from humble beginnings, raised on the streets of Mbare to a musical giant nationally and globally."  "Handipere Power" which translates in English as "I will never lose my strength" was almost excluded from the album until they decided to squeeze it in.

A native of Mbare, Zimbabwe, born Carrington Simbarashe Chiwadzwa, Nutty O made history by being the first Zimbabwean artist to be featured on Dj Edu’s Afrodancehall show on BBC 1xtra with his track “Kwandabva Kure”. This young talent has definitely grown into a Zimdancehall beast and was recently honored thrice in the Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA) and twice in the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA).

It is without a doubt that Nutty O is here to produce great music for his listeners and continue to broaden his reach globally!

Minister Marion Hall formerly Lady Saw announces she will no longer be preaching on social media. Hall this evening expressed the following on her Instagram page

"To all Christians and none Christians, who’s  been coming up against me and my ministry. Congratulations on your mission to take me down. You’ve successfully done so. I’ve decided to walk away from my calling, and will no longer be doing any preaching on any social media platform. May the lord forgive me."

This coming weeks after back and forth shots on social media because of remarks passed by Hall in a 3 hr long live that sent jabs to the reigning 'Queen of Dancehall' and Grammy Nominee Spice, Shenseea, Jada Kingdom and Ishawna. She recently stated that she would be seeking legal actions towards others for defamation of character as they stated she obeah people.

Dancehall artist Teejay graced the stage in the DMV July 4th weekend at the staging of Lifestyle Weekend DMV Dancers Fete presented by the Lifestyle Family and Advill Viral Pawty King. This event was hosted by MC Nuffy who brought nothing less than pure vibes!!

Although the artist announced being under the weather, it was not noticeable at all to his fans who cheered and chimed on like a choir as he performed his catalog of hit songs. This high geared act didn't lack anything. His voice echoed loud and clear over Bright Star's top-notch sound system which had superb quality for this event.

The "Owna Lane" hitmaker started off his set stepping out in full black with his seductive track "Stimulate". Next up was the ladies favorite "Attention" which encouraged more of the sing along. The stream of entertainment got even more intense once the dancers joined Teejay on the stage. In the crowd of dancers were Marvin "The Beast", Dyema Attitude, Trey Ravers, DHQ Shelly Sell Off, Chop Family, Queen Chipsta, Tallup and many others. The venue went into a complete frenzy once "Bitcoin" dropped. The crowd roared like a lion and Teejay and the dancers exhibited the Stir Fry dance founded by Ravers Clavers dancer Trey Ravers.

All in all it was a great look! Congratulations to the promoters on this fun-filled successful event! Job well done!
